Description
Footgel Trekking is a high-cushioning insole designed for hiking, trekking and outdoor activities. It absorbs the impact of each step, distributes pressure better and relieves overload on feet, knees and lower back during long routes or when walking on uneven ground.
Benefits
- Pain relief and prevention: it reduces discomfort in feet, knees and lower back caused by long walks and uneven ground.
- Cushioning on uneven terrain: it absorbs the impact of each step to protect feet and joints during climbs, descents and rocky sections.
- Even pressure distribution: it spreads load more evenly across the whole sole to keep it from concentrating on the main support areas.
- Less fatigue on the trail: it reduces built-up tiredness in feet and legs when walking for hours with a backpack.
- Breathability and odour control: the Tecnion® technical microfibre helps keep the foot dry and controls moisture and bad odours inside the shoe.
- Class I medical device: made in accordance with European medical device regulations. It protects and cares for the wellbeing of your foot.
- Hypoallergenic and antibacterial: it prevents the growth of bacteria to keep the inside of the footwear more hygienic.
- Long-lasting eucalyptus scent: the gel contains eucalyptus essence, which fights bad odours.

Scientific evidence
Footgel Outdoor insoles are designed to provide cushioning and distribute load better on long routes, uneven terrain and hikes with or without a backpack. Studies show that carrying weight increases plantar pressure and that softer materials can help reduce it, especially in areas such as the heel and forefoot.
Less pressure when walking with a backpack
In a study with 20 healthy adults, a cushioned insole reduced plantar pressures while walking, both unloaded and while carrying a backpack. The softer insole performed better in certain areas than a stiffer solution.

Less pressure uphill with a 25 kg backpack
Fifteen athletes walked uphill carrying a 25 kg backpack. Soft, cushioned insoles significantly reduced peak pressure in certain areas of the heel and the fifth metatarsal compared with a flat insole.

More weight in the backpack, more plantar pressure
A study with long-distance hikers found that pressure under the foot increased progressively as the load carried in the backpack rose.
